Brex set out to rebuild the corporate card and spend management from the ground up for startups — a market the incumbents had long underserved. The first product had to earn the trust of founders and finance teams while moving at the speed of a seed-stage company.
Named the company, then designed and built its first product end to end — interface design and a working frontend, side by side with the founding team. The earliest experience felt unmistakably more considered than the legacy tools it set out to replace.
The early identity and product became the foundation Brex scaled on. The company has since raised roughly $1.5B and grown into one of the most recognized names in fintech.
